On 19/01/2021, ROOV obtained a license from the National Bank of Belgium for the Account information service provider. This gives ROOV access to checking accounts at various banks.
The personal finance app for families/individuals
It is an important next step in the rollout of our ultimate goal to become the personal finance app for families/individuals. This license creates a lot of opportunities to respond even better to the needs of our users:
- Overview and transparency of all your finances in 1 central location (the ROOV app)
- Manage your digital archive linked to payments or non-payments
- Alerting and notifying you when unpaid invoices threaten to expire
Under the supervision of the National Bank, the most stringent rules are applied in terms of privacy and data protection. Our ambition is to activate this bank connection by early March.
PSD2, or Payment Service Directive, is a European payment services directive, which aims to ensure that more competition and innovation is possible. For example, companies licensed by the National Bank of Belgium can now also have access to payment accounts, subject to the explicit consent of the user. A bank cannot refuse to share the data with a third party accredited by the National Bank of Belgium.
We look forward to convincing you to install ROOV and its bank link.
